Free Me Association will host a community wide coat drive for winter jackets, coats, and
windbreakers of all sizes. Recommendations of areas and communities of need will be catered to
during winter months. Free Me Association accepts donations year-round within this program.
Dropoff Location 2346 Sterlington Rd. Monroe,LA. 71203. Place all jackets or coats, inside of bin near front door. Please no bags or other articles of clothing, only the jacket/coat is to be placed inside of bin.
Free Me Association is beginning an annual Bike Giveaway for children ages 5 and older.
Bicycles are very influential pieces of childhood memories, as well as physical activity. We will
extend our search of community organizations, groups, and businesses to partner with Free Me to make this program annually possible.
Annual Hall of Fame ceremony recognizing some of the most influential and talented students of
The Carroll High School of Monroe, LA and Richwood High School of Monroe, LA. Inaugural
Banquet 2019, Second Annual 2020. This is a program designed of bridge building, keeping our
history apart of the growth of today. There are many local legends and historical figures that
come from these two historically black high schools in our area. Recognizing these many heroes and bringing their legacies to the forefront as a tool of motivation and celebration for our
community Is very important.
Free Me Association Hosts an Annual Summer Kick Off that includes fun for all ages. This
family fun day is free of charge to the community, Including family music, games, and activities
for all ages. It also serves similar to a business incubator during the event, welcoming local
businesses and service providers the opportunity to reach new clients and consumers as well as
offering resources to aspiring business owners.
Our Goal: Provide a positive community engagement for patrons of our community to kick off a safe, exciting summer. We also want to encourage and support local entreprenuers and small businesses.
During the peak of Football season, MCAL hosts a weekend of events in honor of fall festivities
for the village. In year 1 of our festival, the evening after scheduled football games our entire
community was welcome to participate in an amazing family atmosphere with great music,
games, costume contests, trick or treat candy free of charge. In our first edition of the festival
MCAL had more than 500 children and 300 adults in attendance. Thanks to Local Sponsors and
Monroe City Councilpersons help make our vision come true, and we were blessed to put on a
positive event for our youth and community.
Our Goal: We wish to continue this festival annually, attracting more sponsors and partners to
help us create a larger impact for our community. MCAL wishes to imprint the Village
Celebration as a city wide homecoming surrounding our youth.
Who Is Our Target Audience: The entire community is welcome to Village Celebration.
What We Aim To See in 5 Years: The village celebration will be successful in holding its place
yearly in fall festivities, known as the Homecoming of Monroe.
Celebrate our Student Athletes, Coaches, Staff, and Supporters from the Athletic
Year of Programs. Special Awards Ceremony Style Presented with special awards for each sport,
coaches awards, team of the year and more.
Who Is Our Target Audience: All MCAL Participants with the addition of invited loved ones and
media.
