EXCEL Power Enrichment

Free Skill Based After School Tutoring Program. Program for students K-8th Grade. The goal is to improve grade-level skills in order to bridge any learning gaps. Students will complete a pre and post-assessment that will measure growth. This curriculum includes standardized test prep 

and has shown to improve writing and math skills.

 HEART Of The City Art Expo 

Seasonal Art Exhibitions for surrounding area art talents. Competitions are open to Middle and 

High School Students. The Inaugural Expo took place from December 26th, 2020 through 

January 2, 2021. Themed for Kwanza, the contest consisted of research, economics, and an art 

project. The goal of this contest was to allow youth to research the holiday, and create several 

paintings/drawings of items that represent Kwanza while bringing awareness to themselves and others about the holiday. Bringing an experience for the youth of our community to be educated, experienced economic education by auctioning off their art for a reasonable price, and being able to express themselves for it through art.

Standardized Test Prep 

During The Academy Elite Wolfpack’s Travel 7v7 Seasons (2021 & 2022), on tournament free 

Saturdays all of our student-athletes grades 8th and older participate in Testing Prep workshops. 

The ACT average of Ouachita Parish is almost 1 full point below the state’s average. Which is 

(the state of Louisiana), below the national average by a full 2 points. The goal is to increase the scores of our students and student-athletes as well as express the importance of this resource to 

students in the community. 

This program is free of charge and open to all students (8th – 12th) grade recommended for test prep development in Monroe City Schools or Ouachita Parish Schools.

“Youth Works” Internship Program 

Exposing our kids and area both to the wonders of SPORT. To do something for sport, means to 

compete with another or oneself, igniting the natural urge to get better and win. (Competition) 

Exercising this mindset not only toward Athletics, But into Art, Literature, Sciences, Social 

Skills, Health & Wellness, Entrepreneurship, and Financial Literacy are key to growing our 

Area’s Sports Culture.

Under The Radar Exposure Initiative 

Upon registration, a strategic plan amongst staff and student athletes is put in place according to certain factors regarding their current recruiting activity. From this point student athletes are coached on the recruiting process and taught how to engage socially with next level recruiters. A continuously growing pipeline of connections amongst our facilitators and college programs around the country will enable these students “a leg up” on their athletic scholarship hunt.

Summer Young Leader Mentorship Program 

The youth in our community are overwhelmed sometimes with negative and traumatizing events, and other times circumstances beyond their control. Being that our area is heavily poverty 

stricken, many in our community lack resources in a multitude of areas. Our Youth’s mental and 

emotional development are often areas forgotten about in this area. This mentorship program will 

target youth with a recommended need for services including but not exempt to self-

esteem/communication concerns, educational enrichment/personal tutoring, mentorship/lifeskill assessment, encourage a supportive environment, anger/anxiety concerns.
